Findings indicate that “significant chordee” is clinically defined as curvature greater than 20 degrees, in that 75% of respondents said they would proceed with further intervention. Placement of plicating sutures was the most common therapy chosen for 20 degrees chordee, with 50% of respondents electing this approach. Consensus was reached at 30 degrees chordee, with greater than 99% intervening at this degree of curvature. At 30 degrees curvature, 48% used an incisional Nesbit procedure. As the degree of curvature increased, division or mobilization of the urethral plate became the most common intervention. With 50 degrees chordee, urethral plate manipulation was used 34% of the time [6].

Plication procedures—excisional and incisional corporoplasty and imbrication for Peyronie’s disease
Plication procedures for the correction of Peyronie's disease (PD) curvature are management options for PD patients. There are basically three types of procedures: excisional corporoplasty, incisional corporoplasty, and plication-only. This review is a compilation of English literature, peer-reviewed, published articles addressing these types of operations for Peyronie's curvature correction, n...
متن کاملPenile Curvature Incidence in Hypospadias: Can It Be Determined?
The aim was to retrospectively determine the real incidence of congenital penile curvature in various forms of hypospadias, in order to indicate intraoperative assessment and correction of curvature. We analyzed 842 patients with hypospadias who underwent surgery from 2003 to 2010, classified into two groups. First group was intraoperatively checked for curvature as a routine procedure, while a...
متن کاملAbnormalities of Penile Curvature: Chordee and Penile Torsion
Congenital chordee and penile torsion are commonly observed in the presence of hypospadias, but can also be seen in boys with the meatus in its orthotopic position. Varying degrees of penile curvature are observed in 4-10% of males in the absence of hypospadias. Penile torsion can be observed at birth or in older boys who were circumcised at birth. Surgical management of congenital curvature wi...
متن کاملCorrection of penile curvature by rotation of the corpora cavernosa: a case report.
AIM We report on the corporal rotation technique, customized for the management of ventral curvature in patients without hypospadias. METHODS A male patient with ventral curvature of 90 degrees was operated on. The neurovascular bundle was mobilized for a short distance at the point of maximum curvature. The corpora cavernosa were approximated to each other in the dorsal midline by suturing p...
متن کاملLimited Urethral Mobilization Technique in Distal Hypospadias Repair with Satisfactory Results
Hypospadias is defined as an abortive development of the urethral spongiosum and ventral prepuce along with an arrest in the normal embryological correction of penile curvature (1). It is one of the most common congenital anomalies, which occurs in approximately 1 of 200 to 1 of 300 live births (1, 2). The majority of cases are distal hypospadias with an incidence of 75% (2). The main goals in ...
